Who are we?

Lana Association is a non-profit organization operating since 2011 to improve educational, welfare, and social services within the Bedouin community. Lana works to develop regional solutions for children and people with disabilities and their families, aiming to integrate them into the community, Israeli society, and employment.

Mission Statement:

The Lana Association operates within the Bedouin community in southern Israel, aiming to improve quality of life while promoting the welfare of children, individuals, and families with special needs and strengthening the surrounding community.

The association develops regional solutions while promoting professional programs and services—educational, rehabilitative, therapeutic, and employment-related—for people with special needs in the Bedouin society and their surrounding community. This is done in cooperation with relevant government bodies and other professional organizations.

At Lana, we believe in the potential inherent in every individual, regardless of culture, origin, abilities, or limitations, and in every person’s right to live a life of dignity and independence.

Organization Goals:

  1. Raising awareness and changing perceptions towards people with special needs, presenting them as valuable, capable, and contributing members of society—to improve their quality of life and that of their families.
  2. Increasing awareness of the rights of people with special needs, encouraging rights fulfillment, promoting accessibility in public spaces, and strengthening connections with organizations and employers for their full integration.
  3. Developing and providing tailored solutions for social and daily integration, such as extended day frameworks, sheltered workshops, warm homes, assisted living, and additional community solutions.
  4. Influencing policy and allocating resources at the governmental and municipal levels, committed to the welfare of people with special needs and their full inclusion in society.
  5. Establishing the association as a leading professional knowledge center, with unique expertise in the field, promoting research, knowledge, and experience, and sharing them with the public, professionals, and strategic partners.
